Ink Blending ~ Lynnda's Leaves

Hi everyone Sylvia here, today I have been playing with Oak House Studio pigment inks, using them as I use distress inks for blending colours to make a background for stamping.  I love to make clean and simple one layer cards that can be used for any occasion, and here is a short tutorial showing how I made the card below.

I used triple Autumn Leaves and triple fruity reds pigment ink pads in the blending and stamping of the panel, stamps used Lynnda's Leaves, Texture Elements and Script Sentiments thank you stamp.

Mask a square on the front of a card blank, placing paper over the back to protect it from getting inky.

Using an ink blending tool and starting with the lightest colour gentley blend in a circular motion from the outside of the masked area into the center, adding darker colours until you have the effect you require.

Leaving the masking tape in place stamp randomly in the coloured area stamping over the edge of the tape.  Use a mixture of colours from the triple ink pads to stamp the leaves and elements.

Allow the inking to dry and gently remove the masking tape to reveal the center stamped panel.  Leave the card as it is, draw a fine line round the stamping or individual stamped elements, or add a sentiment as desired.

If you have not used this technique with pigment inks I hope you will have a go, each card is individual as the colours and stamping turn out different every time.

Thank you for looking.

Sylv xx
