Sunflower stamp wallhanging: Words to live by

Here is another sunflower project using the  Large and the medium sunflower stamps.

I used some mount board that had been cut down to 6x4 inches.
I applied some texture paste to two opposite corners. I stamped into this with the large sunflower stamp, and left it to dry. then I sprayed the whole thing with Simply Chocolate Ink in a bottle.
Whilst I had the ink out I dyed some Rats Tail to use later to hang it up.

Once dried, I added the words stamped on to some accounts paper with Sienna Pigment ink and tore out the words.
The sunflowers were made by stamping with copper detail embossing powder on the old book paper. This was then sprayed with Simply Chocolate Ink In a bottle and left to dry. They were cut out and mounted on to the board.
I used my cropodile to punch two holes and add the dyed Rats Tail.
I enjoyed this one, possibly because it was a messy one.
Keep the comments coming. I still have more sunflower posts to add, so your comments all count.

Time for speed

Like you all, I find life gets complicated, so time for a fast back to basics page for an album I am working on for my mother in law who has recently lost her husband.
We all miss Malcolm's smile and this new stamp seemed to say it all.

So what did I do? I used cream stamping card and sprayed it heavily with citrus yellow and orange ink in a bottle,  leaving the card wet with ink and moved the wet ink round with the medium sunflower. I dried this card off and trimmed it to 6 inch square. Then I over stamped it with the medium sunflower stamp and the Triple sunshine yellow ink pad.

I stamped the words on to more cream card with an Oak House Studio Sienna pigment ink pad and tore it out. Going for speed I dug out my tape runner and fastened it all together, I added on the sunflower paperclip/bookmark I mad on an earlier post.
Amazing what you can do when time is tight and you let go.

There are a few post of the sunflower projects to come from me. Your comments still count until I get the final post up.

Here are some I made earlier

Need to take a trip out, so here a a couple of project I made awhile ago.

This is an easel style card I designed for a class,  I used the large sunflower and red chalk pastels to create both backgrounds.Tthe sentiment and and topper are simply stamped and embossed with gold detail powder to make the most of that detail in the centre.

This is another card using chalk pastels and linen card, always a fast and effective card.

Be back soon x

And we are off again.

This is Lynnda, kicking the day off with some bookmarks. these are things I started yesterday, but it was great to get up and finish these off.
I have made 4 different bookmarks.

I added ribbon dyed with Inks in a bottle to the yellow card version.
I cut out the smaller sunflowers I painted with acrylic inks yesterday and glued them back to back using pinflair glue around a large paper clip, I then just tipped the cream card showing through at the backs with with acrylic inks.

The final design again uses sunflowers painted with acrylic ink yesterday and glued them to a small card which I used double sided tape the top together so it will sit over the corner of the page.

More to come so stay watching

That is all for now folks

I have to admit the light is fading and I pretty tired.
All these things are on my desk ready to be finished tomorrow.
I am going to make a brew and do the last half hour on the sofa cutting some of this out.
I hope you have enjoyed today, I have certainly enjoyed getting back to my craft desk after a very busy couple of weeks supporting the family. Thank you for your support,
Don't forget to leave comments on all the post for a chance to win to the three sunflower stamps.

See you in the morning x

Bookmarks

I have been working on lots of projects and have lots of things drying. Here are a couple of Book marks I made using the triple ink pads.
I may add some ribbon to these, what do you think?

The yellow/orange is made using the smaller sunflower and the Triple Sunshine Yellow,
The Blue one is made using the medium sunflower and the Triple blue skies ink pad.
The sentiment on the blue bookmark is just available by special request at the moment, just message me if you would like one,

Christine's project part 2

Christine again,
With the sunflower stamped I went on to create a background.

The background piece was sprayed with Citrus Yellow and Citrus Orange in the centre and dried with a heat gun, then trimmed to size.
I mounted the sunflower from my first post onto this to create a topper.
The topper was mounted onto another piece of card which had been coloured round the edges with the darkest colour on the Sunshine Yellows triple ink pad and double-embossed. In the single colours this is Tangerine Tart.
The card background was made using the Triple Sunshine Yellows inkpad and the large Harlequin Pattern stamp. A spare strip of card was stamped with the English Garden words stamp (and the Sunshine Yellows again) and the two edges were coloured and embossed.

The card was assembled with some brown ribbon and a couple of sunflower buttons.

I hope you are enjoy the projects as much as we have enjoyed making them.
Don't forget to leave a comment for a chance to win the sunflower stamps from Lynnda.

A photo to treasure

I have to say every thing I look at on my table seems to make me think of Malcolm. Here is the middle sized sunflower with a little stamp I haven't yet decided to put into production. It is a quote for Winnie the Pooh.

I needed to get focused so started a project with just one stamp and one ink pad. I used Oak House Studio Colour Chemistry pigment ink pad in Sienna and stamped on to cream stamping card cut to fit my frame. I stamped the sunflower around the edge.  I stamped the words in the same ink, on a scrap of cream stamping card.

I stamped the sunflower again with sienna ink and added copper detail embossing powder.

I used a pental waterbrush with same ink to colour this sunflower, making sure I went over the outside lines for when I was cutting out

Here is the finished project, I have just blu  tac ed it together so Ben can change the photo if he wishes.

Right time for the traditional bacon sandwich of One Stamp thank to Ben,

I hope you are enjoying the day, don't forget to leave a comment to win the three sunflowers I am using.

Christine's Project

Hello, Christine here, just popping by to show you the beginning of my project.

I started with stamping card and some Oak House Studio Ink in a bottle.
This piece was sprayed all over  lightly with the Citrus Yellow  and Citrus Orange then dried. Once it was dry a small area of Brazil Nut was sprayed in the centre and dried carefully from the back so as to avoid blowing it around.

The sunflower was stamped onto the card, aligning the flower centre with the brown splodge, using an OHS Chocolate ink pad and embossed with the clear embossing powder. The petals of the flower were washed with a wet brush to merge the colours a little and the leaves and stem had a wash of Citrus Green and Brazil Nut added to them. A little more brown was brushed onto the flower centre. The flower was then cut out.

I will show you what I did with this later today.
I hope you are crafting away too.

Christine.

One Stamp project

For those who haven't seen this before, this is where at take 24 hours, 12 today and  12 hours tomorrow and do some stamping with just one stamp image. Being a crafter I do have 3 versions of one image. We have done this project several times and if you search the blog you will find other examples.
Having had set backs month after month this year, this is the least prepared I have ever been for a ONE STAMP. It will by necessity, be a laid back event, Martin is taking Ben over to his Mum's to help her deal with some of his Dad's things, so will be on my own and won't have the boys to bring me food etc.
Having said all that I am looking forward to getting back to my craft desk and I am hoping to break out some of my new toys.

I will be bringing blog posts and link to other peoples blogs, so stay tuned...

Just For You

Hi Everyone
it's Kath again...back with the last of my Guest Design Projects
I would like to say a huge thank you to Lynnda for inviting me to join you
and allowing me to play with her fabulous Oak House Studio products and also
to ALL OF YOU for your lovely comments
Last week's project was the Garden Planner and if you intended giving it as a gift...well you're going to need a card to go with it...a perfect excuse for me to play with the gorgeous Double Daisy Stamps again.
This time I spritzed the Delicious Damson and Citrus Lime Colour Chemistry Inks In A Bottle on to a piece of sticky backed canvas which gives more texture than using card, then overstamped the Mini Harlequin Pattern Stamp using the Triple Fruity Reds Pigment Ink Pad. I stamped the English Garden Words and a border from the Stitch In Time Stamp Set onto lined patterned paper using the Yummy Chocolate Pigment Ink Pad and machine stitched on to the canvas to create more texture
I stamped the flowers and hearts with the Yummy Chocolate and Triple Fruity Reds Pigment Ink Pads on to card and sprinkled with clear embossing powder and heat to set.  I coloured in the hearts with the Citrus Lime Colour Chemistry Ink In a Bottle using a water brush.
I cut a thin strip of canvas for the stem and stitched on to the canvas.  Cut out the hearts and flowers leaving a small border around the edge and fixed in place with 3D foam pads. Finally I stamped the sentiment from the Stitched In Time Stamp Set with Yummy Chocolate, sprinkled with embossing powder and heat to set.
I hope you enjoyed the projects I've shared with you...I've certainly had great fun making them and I'll be  popping across to see what you are all making with the fabulous products from Oak House Studio
